Identicator Portable Fingerprint Station Helps Criminalistics Consulting
Take Up to 10,000 Prints per Year

Expert Timothy Hahn Insists Upon Clean Applicant Background Prints

EL SEGUNDO, CALIF. - April 11, 2001 - When conducting applicant background checks, Criminalistics Consulting of Bowie, Md., relies exclusively on the Identicator Portable Fingerprint Station and its Perfect InkŪ pad for instantly permanent, non-smearing prints on a variety of fingerprint cards. The firm takes between 5,000 to 10,000 prints for applicant background checks for a variety of clients, including the Prince George County (Md.) Public School District.

"We have been using Perfect Ink products exclusively since the company formed in 1995," explains Timothy Hahn, President of Criminalistics Consulting, who also teaches criminal investigations classes at Canton College and Mississippi State University. "No other processing equipment gives us the quality prints, the speed and the portability. Without the mess of ink and roller, Perfect Ink gives us sharp fingerprints."

Each Identicator Portable Fingerprint Station is fully assembled and ready to use with a Perfect Ink pad already mounted. The pad is easily replaceable and develops instantly permanent, non-smearing prints on all fingerprint cards. The portable units are available with folding legs, one or two card holders and equipped with non-skid feet. Sizes range from 16.75 x 6 x 2 inches (42.5 x 15 x 5 cm) to 27 x 7 x 11 inches (69 x 18 x 28 cm).

To fingerprint, the applicant's finger is simply rolled lightly on the pad and, then, lightly on the fingerprint card. Any minimal residue remaining is easily removed by rubbing the fingers together or with a small towel.

Timothy Hahn is a 1989 graduate of the American Institute of Applied Science. He retired as Detective Lieutenant with the Mount Rainier (Md.) Police Department and is a fellow of the Fingerprint Society of Great Britain. Besides consulting throughout the United States, Hahn has worked with countries such as Bosnia and South Africa, helping to rebuild their police forces. Since 1995, he has been president of Criminalistics Consulting.
